Liquidation.com Is Not An eBay Auction CompetitorPublished: 09/10/2008
On arrival at the home page I realised pretty quickly this isn't a site geared up to 'moms and pops' selling unwanted gifts from their kitchen table. It specialises in the disposal of liquidated and surplus stock at very keen wholesale prices and I was pretty impressed at some of the offers available. It is obvious that many buyers at Liquidation.com are probably powersellers at eBay! Rather than being an eBay competitor, Liquidation is complimentary to eBay. While Liquidation isn't likely to interest someone looking to buy the odd item for their own use, there are certainly some seriously good offers for anyone wanting to buy in bulk to resell on eBay or even the smaller alternative venues. While eBay may be changing itself to appeal more to the warehouse based retailer than kitchen table start up, the millions they pour in to marketing means plenty of buyers will be there all the time worthwhile products are on offer. So, for anyone looking to develop their eBay sales and are prepared to start buying bulk stock, the Liquidation website must be worth checking regularly. To buy on Liquidation you need to open a free account and wait a day or so for your account to be approved. After that it is a question of browsing and bidding. Most regular forms of payment are accepted including Paypal. Liquidation consider themselves a global marketplace and accept account applications from a wide range of countries. That said, trading is done in US dollars and the majority of items appear to be located in the US so overseas buyers may need to factor in international shipping overheads. To help buyers outside of the US there's a handy link on the home page leding to listings of items "available for export". In some circumstances it appears listings may allow buyers to arrange their own shipping. Having looked around and taken in a lot of the well detailed information about using the site, I am very tempted to get involved and you needn't look far beyond the home page to realise why! We will welcome news, user opinions or reviews about Liquidation.com in their dedicated thread in our forum. We also welcome users views and news about any auction or stores website venues including eBay, Amazon, eBid etc. For more information visit Liquidation.com.
